This is the bit where I give humility the middle finger. If I don’t blow my own trumpet, no one’s going to do it for me, so here goes… I’m an award-winning freelance copywriter. Yep. I’ve picked up several SME News Business Elite Awards for DropCapCopy Copywriting and the way I do things over the years as evidenced below:
Early days and more about me
Before becoming a Devon copywriter, I started writing copy in 2014 in a marketing role – company brochures, web pages, and blogs – and discovered I actually loved it when my boss asked me to write a full brochure from scratch.
By early 2015, I was taking courses, reading books, following all the right people, and offering freelance copywriting services in Exeter, Plymouth, and Newton Abbot. I sent my first invoice in April 2015 and by August 2016, I finally became full-time freelance.
Away from the keyboard, I live in the market town of Newton Abbot – right between Exeter and Plymouth – in Devon, with my wife and two cats, right on the edge of Dartmoor. Here are a few quick facts:
⚽️ Liverpool FC fan – I’ve always been a Reds fan and have years of home games at Anfield and European away games under my belt.
🔊 Music addict – My first gig was at 13 years old, and I’ve been going to gigs ever since. Gimme 3 chords and a guitar solo any day…
💿 Vinyl junkie – Buying records back in the day was a bit of an addiction. I went cold turkey for a while, but I’m hooked again now…
📚 Avid reader – I love to buy and read books. No genre or subject in particular, but I always have at least one book on the go.
